Clap Your Hands!
We were opening up at some big festival, but we forgot the iPod with the back up sequences. …and we forgot my bass, so I played an extension cord. We closed with “If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands.” A 3 song set…We started a riot, as it showed on the news, and we told the crowd, “Our earlier music will only make sense to you if you have 4 beers in you.”
My dad was our roadie. I told him, “HURRY back to the house for the iPod!!” It didn’t happen.
It was me, Cory, and Chris (e. norton) and we started off with Oragel, then the riot police came out. For some reason, they were standing ON TOP of the crowd. Then we played… umm… I can’t remember what was next, but then we had to cut it short. We had a band huddle on stage, and I proposed “If You’re Happy..” and the crowd heard the proposal through the microphone and started cheering for it.
They either loved us or hated us…
Some cowboys almost got in a rumble in the front row with some jocks, too.
I’m surprised I remember that much of it.

The Replacement
After Jeph sent me an email describing his latest Rock Dream, my mind must have stored that tale away and the next night gave me this new dream:
As they usually go it started off that we had a show at the last minute but I was unable to play due to some meeting I had or something. Jeph got a replacement guitarist to fill in that night. Somehow I finished the meeting early and was able to at least watch the show from the crowd. I arrived to see that there more people in the band (It’s usually just me, jeph & chris on stage)…we actually had a drummer and bass player and some other people on keyboards. My fill-in replacement was next to Jeph on stage and didn’t know what the hell he was doing. The next section is a blur, but the band took a break and I tried to find Jeph to tell him that I could do the second half of the show..but the guy I thought was Jeph was some other dude..he looked at me with surprise and said “Oh he’s over there” and it was around then that I woke up.
